New Games Under EA Umbrella

After watching the Live EA conference stream, I can say that there it was an okay conference, There wasn’t anything to loose your marbles over, but there was some pleasing news. It was announced during today’s conference that Crysis 2 will be going multiplatform. This is a smart move for any company. A company with an outstanding title that is multiplatform will make a ton of the green stuff, and more green stuff is what company stakeholders want.  Other news from EA is a new partnership with Realtime Worlds. Realtime Worlds, the same company that brought you ‘Lemmings’ and ‘Grand Theft Auto’ presented a trailer for their new game ‘APB’.

APB

APB utilizes cutting edge technology to create a “living, breathing” city where players clash — on foot and in vehicles — to determine the future of San Paro, a fictional metropolis, where two factions — Enforcement and Criminal — vie for control.

Lucas Arts and Bioware was present to show off their new title ‘Star Wars: Old Republic’. There wasn’t much to see in the terms of game play, but the trailer was awesome. More importantly… Every character in this new title will be voice. One person on the live online feed joked that maybe the game should come with its own hard drive which is similar to what I was thinking. A game of this caliber having every character voiced has got to take up some serious disk space.
