Time Warner Schedule to Set Free

Time Warner, according to various news agency has mad an announcement that the company plans to spin off AOL into its own separate entity once again. The internet company, once named America Online, was purchased by Time Warner some years ago, and has not performed very well since. Jon Skillings, from CNET.com, says that AOL’s performance has lagged because customers began to drop their dial-up plans for broadband, and that surfing the net in regular browsers became much easier. After all, who needs browsers like MSN and AOL. The service cost nine plus dollars a month to use the service on top of broadband fees. Time Warner plans to make a final purchase of the remaining shares of AOL from Google in the third quarter and complete the separation. I hope that AOL has some serious plans for a major shake up to keep the company from ultimately sinking.
